Kristin Lang is an Associate at Croatan Institute, where her areas of expertise are sustainable food systems and international development.
Prior to joining Croatan Institute, Lang worked with Oxfam America's Private Sector Department on its food justice campaign and helped to develop the indicators for the Behind the Brands scorecard. She also spent time in Mexico City working with Oxfam Great Britain to create a workshop for rural youth interested in social enterprise. She has served as a consultant for the Capital Area Food Bank in Washington, DC, and Value for Women, a social enterprise focused on engaging young, female entrepreneurs. She began her career at US SIF: The Forum for Sustainable and Responsible Investment (formerly the Social Investment Forum), where she worked with the International Working Group and Board of Directors, as well as on event planning.
A native of Lynchburg, Virginia, Lang enjoys travel and has also spent time living abroad in London, Vienna, Dublin, Mexico City, and Freiburg, Germany. She currently lives in Durham, North Carolina. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and backpacking, trying new vegetarian recipes, and attempting urban gardening.
