Christi Electris to Give Talk on Crowdfunding for the New Economy
On Tuesday, July 18th at 12pm ET, Senior Associate, Christi Electris will be conducting a webinar on Crowdfunding for the New Economy, for the New England Grassroots Environmental Fund (NEGEF).
Crowdfunding is the process of raising funds for a specific project or cause from the often-small contributions of many people, primarily through the use of online networks. Through this social and online fundraising process, organizations not only can raise needed funds, but also can find opportunities to build stronger ties to their existing network, grow their community, and advertise their mission and project goals. This tool builds on the New Economy’s emerging vision for a just, sustainable, and democratic future.
During this webinar, attendees will receive an overview of an alternative approach to economic development. The webinar will provide participants with an introduction to Crowdfunding and how it can support the New Economy, along with a comparison of traditional sources of capital and stakeholder sources of capital for financing enterprise development. Christi Electris will also present a case study of how one organization used crowdfunding to support its work using the Wealthworks Model.
