Electris presents webinar on Crowdfunding for Community Economic Development
Croatan Institute Senior Associate Christi Electris will speak on a webinar on Thursday about crowdfunding for community economic development.
The webinar, entitled “Effective Crowdfunding for Community Economic Development,” is hosted by the Canadian Community Economic Development Network (CCEDNet). Registration for the webinar is available online for a small fee, or is free for members of CCEDNet.
Ms. Electris is an expert on employing crowdfunding technologies for sustainable development. In January 2014, she authored a paper entitled “Guide to Crowdfunding for WealthWorks Value Chains: Understanding Options, Getting Started” and published by Tellus Institute and the WealthWorks Initiative. She has also developed and conducted several trainings on crowdfunding to support new investment into place-based rural value chains.
CCEDNet is a national association of several hundred organizations and individuals across Canada committed to strengthening communities by creating economic opportunities that enhance social and environmental conditions.
Electris will speak alongside Carlos Pinto Lobo of the MaRS Centre for Impact Investing.
