Raising Resources in the Rural South
With foundation grants and government dollars being oversubscribed and hard to come by, nonprofits are finding it increasingly difficult to get the funding they need. To broaden the approach to fundraising, particularly in rural communities, Croatan Institute is working with Southern Partners Fund and McIntosh SEED to develop a training program for nonprofits working to improve social and economic justice in their communities. Participants learn new tools for fundraising within their communities and networks through for both in-person and social media audiences. This training program includes a series of webinars and face-to-face meetings focused on developing giving circles and launching crowdfunding campaigns as methods of gaining financial support and developing a philanthropic spirit within these communities.
