Regenerative Agriculture in the Heartland

Croatan Institute is collaborating with Basil’s Harvest and the Bionutrient Association to create an evidence-based story of research to support regenerative agriculture in the Heartland.

The first purpose of this work is to identify institutional supply chain opportunities for small grains and small grain farmers across the midwest and initiate the development of a regional small grains supply chain. The second purpose is to bring health professionals, farmers, and institutional foodservice providers together to connect human and environmental health, reduce fragmentation, champion regenerative agriculture, and advance a multiple capital institutional value chain.

This research will promote engagement with multiple actors across the value supply chain to learn, support, and act on the improvement of the social, environmental, and economic deterioration we are seeing in human health and agriculture.
