Croatan Institute, in partnership with Working Landscapes, recently completed 5 climate resilience workshops with local governments across eastern NC. These workshops were held in Weldon, Rocky Mount, Trenton, La Grange, and Morehead City, NC. This project, funded by the Upper Coastal Plain and Eastern Carolina Councils of Government, expanded upon local and regional infrastructure needs and identified funding pathways to help implement projects that consider climate and disaster resilience.

The workshops were designed to build upon the Regions Innovating for Strong Economies and Environment (RISE) Program to listen to local government official’s existing and future projects with emphasis on integrating regional collaboration and climate resilience into the projects.
