Alana Lewis has spent the last ten years helping workers build power through their unions as a Political and Legislative Organizer. Alana has advocated for workers’ rights and community empowerment for people who provide essential services to the American people. Her priority is to ensure that federal investment in clean energy produces good union jobs, particularly for young, black, and brown workers, and for women. She learned through her family the importance of serving the community by educating and empowering others through the political process. Alana’s motivation to follow her passion in advocacy stems from her grandmother, recently retired Vice Chair of the Indiana Democratic Party ,and long-time political activist, Cordelia Lewis Burk’s. Alana holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Hampton University and is based in Washington, D.C.
