Croatan Institute President Joshua Humphreys and Analyst James Smith spent the day with Rural Beacon Initiative and USDA-NRCS in Martin County, NC at Free Union Farm. We were honored to meet with NRCS Chief Terry Cosby and his leadership team to discuss NRCS conservation priorities in the Southeast and how Free Union Farm can serve as a model for BIPOC landownership and resilience for other landowners across eastern NC.
