We are pleased to share Croatan Institute’s 2024 Annual Impact Report. While this is our first annual impact report, we are incredibly proud to reflect on all our milestones over the past decade.

Within this report, you can appreciate the breadth of our work and celebrate our major accomplishments.

Some key highlights from 2024 include:

• Producing our debut short film, Soil Wealth: Investing in Regenerative Agriculture, that highlights how investors can make an impact through aligned investments into regenerative land stewardship,
• Releasing two investment databases which empower capital providers interested in leveraging their investment portfolio across asset classes to support sustainable food systems and underserved communities,
• Developing our 2024-2029 Strategic Plan, including the launch of our new Lab for Impact Finance,
• Hiring our first dedicated communications and finance professionals to help amplify our work and better support our partners.

The beginning of 2025 makes it clear that especially at times of limited government funding resources, our work in redirecting capital to invest in resilient and equitable rural communities is more critical than ever.
