Lori Hylton is the Senior Associate for Financial Health for the Croatan Institutes initiative on Racial Equity, Economics, Finance, and Sustainability (REEFS).
Prior to joining the Croatan Institute, Ms. Hylton was the Administrative Coordinator for the Synod of the Northeast PC(USA), where she staffed the Synod’s Connectional Ministries Working Group, which works to identify shared passions for ministry across the Synod, and provided resourcing for the network of 19 presbyteries and over 1100 worshiping communities. In 2020 she launched a pilot financial literacy program for churches called, “Financial Health in the Pews: Building Financial Resilience”. Ms. Hylton has also worked as a Program Officer with Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC), where she worked within the Knowledge Sharing Unit of the Public Policy Team to provide the technical assistance and training needed for local partners to implement targeted and effective policy agendas around affordable housing and economic development.
Ms. Hylton has completed her coursework for her MA in Urban Affairs from Hunter College and earned her BA in Political Science and Africana Studies from Wellesley College.
