Croatan Institute Welcomes Lisa Woll as a New Board Member

Croatan Institute is pleased to introduce long-time collaborator, Lisa Woll, as a Board Member. Lisa is an innovative founder and leader of non-profit institutions. Her career has focused on advancing sustainable investment, international development/human rights and domestic policy. Most recently, and for nearly 17 years, Lisa was CEO of US SIF: The Sustainable Investment Forum. She is currently a consultant and advisor.

Prior to US SIF, Lisa was executive director of the International Women’s Media Foundation, director of the first international study of the impact of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and directed the Washington, DC office of Save the Children. Lisa’s career began as an Urban Fellow in the New York City Human Resources Administration. She has written and spoken widely on sustainable investment, public policy, human rights and development, as well as leadership.

Lisa was included in Barron’s list of “The 20 Most Influential People in ESG Investing” and received the inaugural Forbes Impact Award. Lisa holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Illinois, an M.A. in public policy and women’s studies from George Washington University, and was a Fulbright Fellow in Melbourne, Australia.

Lisa is currently on the board of the Meyer Foundation in Washington, DC and has served on the boards or advisory councils of Human Rights Watch/Children’s Rights Division, Advantage Ethiopia, the Children’s Environmental Health Network, Women’s Voices for the Earth, Suited for Change and The Women’s Alliance.
