NC Soil Wealth Area Awarded Grant from National Fish and Wildlife Foundation

January 14, 2025

The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation’s Southeast Aquatics Fund has awarded a multi-year grant to our Soil Wealth Areas team!

We look forward to working with Working Landscapes, Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture, Feast Down East, and Noquisi Initiative to help over 600 producers across North Carolina navigate federal conservation programs to protect our watersheds while enhancing biodiversity and agricultural resilience.

To date, the Soil Wealth Areas initiative has unlocked more than $800,000 in flexible private and public capital for producers to implement and expand their practices of regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, and enhanced conservation. Croatan Institute has worked closely with +70 producers across nearly 30,000 acres in the last four years to provide tailored financial and agronomic technical assistance.
